Working principle
The membrane switch consists of four parts: panel, upper circuit, isolation layer, and lower circuit. When the membrane switch is pressed, the contacts of the upper circuit deform downwards and become conductive with the plates of the lower circuit. When the finger is released, the contacts bounce back and the circuit is disconnected, triggering a signal.
Membrane Keypad Film Advantages
Lightweight and compact: small in size and light in weight.
Strong sealing: moisture-proof, dust-proof, oil proof and acid alkali corrosion resistant, earthquake resistant and durable.
Low noise: typing sound much less than mechanical keyboard.
Keyboard membrane switch technical features:
Material Selection: The window section predominantly employs polycarbonate (PC) material, offering exceptional light transmission, abrasion resistance, and heat resistance; the circuit layer utilises polyester film (PET), providing excellent insulation properties and dimensional stability.
Conductive Technology: Commonly employs printed conductive silver paste, conductive carbon paste, or transparent conductive inks such as ITO (indium tin oxide) and PEDOT to ensure superior conductivity and light transmission.
Structural Design: Customisable to meet industrial equipment requirements, such as incorporating metal spring sheets for enhanced tactile feedback, or designing convex buttons for ease of operation. LED backlighting may also be integrated for use in low-light environments.
Keyboard membrane switch Application scenarios
Keyboard membrane switch is an electronic switch system that integrates key functions, panel indication, and sealing structure. Due to its lightweight, good sealing, and low cost characteristics, it is widely used in multiple industries.
CNC machine tools: Employed in operator panels, transparent windows display coordinate values, tool parameters and other information, while keypads facilitate programme recall, parameter configuration and similar operations.
Industrial automation control systems: Such as PLC control cabinet interfaces, where transparent windows present operational status indicators and data monitoring information, with keypads enabling start/stop control and parameter adjustment.
Instrumentation: On industrial devices like multimeters and oscilloscopes, transparent window membrane switches enable function switching, range adjustment, and display of measurement data and status information.
Power Equipment: Employed in substation control panels and power monitoring devices, these components deliver reliable operation in harsh electrical environments, providing clear displays and convenient operation.
